Picturesque Polperro Harbour |
Polperro is a beautiful 13th century fishing village, just along the coast from Looe. The River Pol flows right through the village, leading down into the small harbour which is home to a fleet of working fishing boats. Quaint cottages, pubs and shops are nestled into the steep slopes of the valley, all connected by winding and narrow streets and alleys.
The Polperro Heritage Museum of Smuggling and Fishing is located in the old pilchard factory overlooking the harbour. It tells the story of this Cornish fishing village's extraordinary history and is well worth a visit.
